About me.
Resting Bitch Face so strong the Sorting Hat would place me in Slytherin.
Sister, cousin, friend and daughter to the greatest woman that ever lived #RIPJS
Quintessential Leo – fiery, huge ego, loyal AF, bold, bossy, big personality, way too real, intelligent, domineering, arrogant, passionate, impatient, opinionated, generous, headstrong, funny.
Lover of great food, dry wine, conversations with real people, moments spent reading, lyrics that relate, good TV series, hearty laughter and my bed.
Loather of small talk, narrow mindedness, shallow people, parking fees, restaurant container charges, queues and Monday mornings.
About the blog.
The Grief Diaries – My mum died December 13, 2017 at 1:10 a.m. This is me trying to carry on in a world where the love of my life no longer exists.
Mental Health – I am a WIP on the road to recovery from PTSD. I also have OCD, and every now and then my Anxiety threatens to overwhelm me. My mental illnesses do not make me any less human/worthy/awesome than my mentally fit counterparts. I want anyone struggling with their mental health to know it is okay not to be okay. That there is nothing to be ashamed about in asking for help. That in fact there is great strength in the vulnerability, courage and honesty it takes to accept that you need help and to go ahead and ask for it. Through this category I intend to do everything in my power to destigmatise conversations around mental health because every mind matters.
Sex And The City – An ode to my favourite TV show of all time. I have watched all six seasons twice (and counting). This is me trying to get the most out of my sex and dating life before Mr. Right and I find each other.
Book Your Brains Out – I have loved books for as long as I can remember. There is no greater magic in the world than that of a good book. This is me sharing my current reads with ratings and, for books that held on tight and refused to let go, reviews.
Head Over Meals – There is no love sincerer than the love of food – George Bernard Shaw. This is me sharing my love affair with food, be it eating out or a delicious home cooked meal.
Lyrics That Relate – Fewer things heal the soul more than music. Lyrics have the power to articulately put emotions into words, providing a much needed catharsis. This is me highlighting lyrics that have made an impact during various points in my life.
