I read 33 books in my 33rd year and the numerology-loving bibliophile I am is pretty stoked about that!
2020 will go down as the year I read the most 1-star books as I read SIX 1-star books last year. To make matters worse, four of them were technically back-to-back as I read The Postmistress followed by I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You as book one and two of the year!! What a poor AF start to my reading challenge aki. Then in October I read We Were The Mulvaneys followed by Straight Up and Dirty: A Memoir and the former is THE MOST BORING BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE! The other 1-star reads were Good in Bed (my fourth book of the year… poor poor poor start aki) and Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously (HAAATED!!! that one).
That explains why my average rating for the year is 2.8 whereas in previous years it has always been 3+. I also read just two 5-star books last year – We Should All Be Feminists and Night Road – which also contributed to my low 2020 rating.

Hey Val! Happy new year. First things first, your reading discipline is beyond me. Thate three heh, how about you create your group on Goodreads where we can know what you’re tackling in a lame effort to emulate you?

Hey hey 👋
Happy New Year 🥳
Lol. People out there read 100+ books so 33 may be admirable, but si sana 😅
Creating a group on Goodreads? How does that work?

Do you suffer from unfinished book guilt lol. You sound like you still finished all those 1 star books in the end.
I read 15 books in 2020 (goal was 24), but with majority being 5 star. Infact I only read one 1-star book – Ellen DeGeneres’ ‘Seriously…I’m Kidding’. I think she was indeed just kidding with the release of the book lol.
Big Magic was my fav, followed closely by Maybe You Should Talk To Someone by Lori.
Planning to actually make it to 24 in 2021…
