I was really conflicted about buying, and reading, The Tales of Beedle the Bard because J.K. Rowling is a massive transphobe and I am not normally one to separate the artist from the art. But it’s from the world of Harry Potter and out of the 3 books in the Hogwarts Library Series I own 2 of them, so 1 more and I am done with the author for good.
I initially gave it 4 stars, not because I liked the fairytales so much, but because I loved Dumbledore’s commentary on them. But when I thought about it, I changed my mind and gave it 3 stars as I have read better books that I rated 4 stars.
