It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

Book 29/30.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I first read It Ends with Us in 2018 and absofuckinglutely loved it. I watched the movie adaptation starring Blake Lively and quite enjoyed it (and even cried a little bit), so I was realllllllyyyyyy excited to reread this 🤩🤓

Below is my review that I wrote in 2018 and updated in 2021 that still rings true today so I will not update it to reflect my 2024 reread. The only thing I will add is that when I read it in 2018 nary a tear was shed but this time around it made me cry 😪

It took me three days to read this, not because it was not enjoyable, but because I wanted to pace myself. I did not want to finish it too quickly but at the same time it was very difficult to put down. I mean, I opted to skip the second half of the Belgium vs Japan World Cup game to read this instead, which in hindsight I probably should not have done, lol.

This was just such a wonderful read. It was one of those that reminded me of why I fell in love with reading more than 20 years ago. I wanted to read it sooo badly for the 2017 reading challenge after seeing Emily May’s review, but unfortunately I just could not find it anywhere.

My favourite part of the story was Atlas. Guys like him who exist outside of fiction are in the vast minority. I really hope I find my Atlas in said vast minority.

Updated on World Book Day 2021: I found my Atlas in said vast minority 😌🥰🤩😍
