Book 31/30.
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Nora’s life has been going from bad to worse. Then at the stroke of midnight on her last day on earth she finds herself transported to a library. There she is given the chance to undo her regrets and try out each of the other lives she might have lived. Which raises the ultimate question: with infinite choices, what is the best way to live?
I was looking forward to reading The Midnight Library as it won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Fiction in 2020. In fact, it was the closest contest in the history of the awards as it beat out Fredrik Backman‘s Anxious People by FIVE!!!!! votes š² Sadly I did not like it as much as I thought I would ā I just could not connect with the story as it did not pull me in ā and the only reason I rated it 3 stars rather than 2 is because it was relatively thought-provoking.
