Book 14/30.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
My first 5 star read of the year. Woohoo!!!
This is my second Kristin Hannah read, the first being The Nightingale which I also gave 5 stars.
This was not a perfect book though, unlike The Nightingale which was sheer perfection. The reason I gave Firefly Lane 5 stars despite its imperfections is because it is such a good story. I found myself really engrossed in this tale of two best friends that spanned decades. I would not call it unputdownable per se, but I found myself longing for my lunch break at work and my evenings at home so I could return to it. I chose to spend my Saturday night reading (and finishing) it in bed rather than embarking on season 2 of Killing Eve, and that should say a lot.
