And just like that, the second half of 2020 is officially here!
How is the year going for you dear reader? My 2020 is significantly less accomplished than 2019 and to be honest I am not sure how I feel about that. Looking back at what I managed to achieve by this time last year and trying to compare it with what I have achieved within the first half of this year is well, laughable. I understand that the pandemic has vastly changed life as we know it, but even while knowing that I am still feeling quite unaccomplished. Not to mention I am struggling greatly with procrastination, from small things like clearing my camera roll to big things like sending my writing out to online sites that will pay me if they publish any of my pieces. Also, like many other people the world over, I am also dealing with job insecurity. The organisation I work for has let some people go and I understand that more job cuts are on the way at some point in the year. I only have one source of income so if I was to be let go, I would not know where to start fending for myself. The good thing is that I have some savings that should sustain me for some time in case of anything, plus I have also increased my savings as of Q2 this year. I try not to think about job cuts too much though, because while I am aware of the situation, I do not want to speak it into existence in any way, shape or form.
On the plus side, my mental health has been doing much better as of last month, to the point that I have not felt the need to see my therapist. But I was planning on seeing her at some point this month just because, before Leo season kicks in.
As we gear up for the second half of the year, I would like to know if there is anything in specific you would like to see on the blog that is not there already. Or for existing features, is there anything you would like to see more or less of? My two year blogiversary is coming up on August 22nd and I am already thinking of how I will be doing things differently in my third year of blogging, and so I welcome all your feedback/suggestions.
