Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

Book 1/30.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh I really liked this one!

In December 2020, out of nowhere I got an urge to read Little Fires Everywhere. With time it moved from an urge to a … little fire 😅 and I HAD to get myself a copy of the book. I intended to read it as the final book of my 2020 reading challenge but I did not get a copy in time so it ended up being the first book of my 2021 reading challenge. I like to start and end my reading challenges on a high, so I always choose books I know I will enjoy. Sometimes that works out, other times not so much, so lucky for me Little Fires Everywhere did well to set the bar high for 2021.

I quite enjoyed the story and while reading I was picturing Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Richardson and Kerry Washington as Mia Warren. It took me four days to read this and I would have definitely finished it in half that time were I not reading it during my one year anniversary baecation.

The author left a few things hanging by the end of the book but that ambiguity only added to the strength of the story, and I know I will be imagining my own conclusions to the various characters’ plotlines for days to come.

Now to watch the series 🤩
