This was so damn cute 😍
The general consensus among Goodreads reviewers is that some stories are stronger than others and while I agree with the sentiment, I enjoyed ALL the retellings. It’s just that some were enjoyed more than others 😅 I wasn’t too crazy about the original stories though 😐
This was quite the debut collection because Bolu Babalola is such an incredible writer!!! I cannot count the number of times I reread a sentence/paragraph because it blew me away with its beauty or its wisdom/insight and I needed to savour it again. I also recognised a great deal of my writing style in the author’s prose and all I can say is I know what my writing will resemble when it grows up. Lol 😅
