I was verrrryyy apprehensive about this because while I LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE!!! Sex and The City the TV show, the book can easily be described as a heaping pile of steaming dog shit. I went into this with fingers crossed that it wouldn’t be even more dog shit, but with a rating of 3.56 on Goodreads I did not expect much. To my utmost surprise The Carrie Diaries turned out to be marginally better than Sex and the City and I rated it 2 stars while SATC was a HARD 1 star read.
This is my third Candace Bushnell book and the third time was NOT the charm. I first read One Fifth Avenue which is a mediocre AF 2 star read. Sex and the City was my second CB read, and this is my third and last. Three strikes, I’m out!!! I will stick to the TV adaptations if necessary because with her highest rated book on Goodreads having a rating of 3.62, clearly it’s not me, it’s her 😐
