Book 22/30.
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I enjoyed this, but I also thought I would like it much more than I did. Going in I was certain I wouldn’t rate it anything less than 4 stars, but it ended up being a 3 star read. I can’t quite articulate why that is the case, all I know is for one reason or another it didn’t live up to my expectations.
That said, this was my introduction to Emily Henry and now I cannot wait to read You and Me on Vacation which nabbed the Goodreads Choice Award for Romance in 2021, and Book Lovers which several bookstagram reviewers say is the author’s best yet.
Lastly, how sexy is Augustus Everett!? Whew 🥵🥵🥵 I can totally see Gavin Leatherwood or Darren Barnet playing him in a movie adaptation 😍
PS: I LOVE to read (duh!) and my favourite place on earth is the beach. Put those two together and my favourite place to read is the beach. So best be sure kicking off my Emily Henry collection by reading Beach Read at the beach, during Leo season no less, was verrrryyy intentional of me 💁♀️🏖
PPS: Reading a romance novel as book 22 was also very intentional of me because I got engaged on January 4, 2022 so of course all things 22 are real romantic to me now 😌🥰
