I am neither a Mindy fan nor a Mindy hater and only bought Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? And Other Concerns because of The Office. Seeing as Mindy wrote 18 episodes for The Office I was certain this would be a hilarious opportunity to get to know her, and the show, a bit better, but boy was I wrong. Not on the getting to know her a bit better part but on the hilarious part because I thought I would be literally LOLing while reading this and that did not happen at all. Not only was this not LOL funny, it also veered towards shallow and, even worse, mean-spirited, every so often. Sitcom writer Mindy Kaling may be, compelling author she is not. Granted this was written over a decade ago and a lot of her jokes have not aged well, but I do not think they were funny even then 🥴
