I don’t usually read the same genre back-to-back because I like to diversify my reading as much as possible, but reading a book from the romance genre on Valentine’s Day Eve is the natural thing to do 🥰 Besides, The American Roommate Experiment was such a fucking letdown (kwanza because it was book 4 😤) I felt like I was owed a do-over 😅 It ended up being a wonderful decision because this was quite the love story 😍 5 stars for book 5 🤩

I don’t know anything about Mia Sheridan so I cannot say for sure who her influences are, but I can bet Nora Roberts is one of them as the plot was verrryyy Noraesque. The writing could get a bit cheesy, but seeing as I am quite cheesy myself I had zero qualms about that. I have read “stronger” books that I rated 4 stars, but I was swept away by Bree and Archer, their love story, the small town (major Nora Roberts vibes) and its characters enough to rate this 5 stars. I was heavily invested in Archer’s growth and my heart sighed with every reveal of his backstory until it broke just a little when all was revealed. There was something about Archer’s earnestness and heartfelt-ness that reminded me of my husband (still getting used to saying that 🤩) when we first started dating, and just like that I have a new book boyfriend 🥵
PS: I specifically chose Archer’s Voice for book 5 because track 5 on Lover 💘 is called The Archer 🏹♐️ (the latter is the Sagittarius symbol btw which is Taylor Swift’s zodiac sign and as always her mind 🙇♀️👏🙌🤯)
