Original 2015 Review
For you, a thousand times over.
This book was just devastating. Gaaah!! So so so sad. Hassan … Hassan made me feel sooo many things. I’d have given the book 5 stars except I couldn’t stand Amir. He is such a little shit. I felt nothing for him when he finally “got redeemed” I can’t remember the last time I disliked a character so immensely
2025 Reread Review
What an emotional lil’ reader I am 🤣 Like, I was so heated by a character I could not possibly rate a book 5 stars 😂😭
The Kite Runner was not as devastating this time around (maybe because I knew what was coming 🤷♀️), and I did not hate Amir as much as I did a decade ago (hashtag growth, lol 😅). But it was a 4-star read then and now, unlike A Thousand Splendid Suns which was a 4-star read at first, but I revised it to 5-stars when I reread it in 2022.
“For you, a thousand times over” is still all of the 🥹🥹🥹
