Shay Goldstein has spent nearly a decade producing shows at a public radio station in Seattle, where she is perfectly happy to stay. Her routine is disrupted by Dominic Yun, a new colleague fresh out of journalism school who quickly gets on her nerves with his confidence and constant opinions about how public radio should work.
When the struggling station needs a fresh idea, Shay pitches a relationship show built around two supposed exes offering advice on air. Her boss loves the concept and decides that Shay and Dominic, whose constant bickering makes them seem like a convincing pair, should host it together. Neither is thrilled about pretending to have a romantic history, but with their jobs on the line, they agree to play along.
To their surprise, The Ex Talk becomes a huge success, attracting a devoted audience and climbing the podcast charts. But as their on-air chemistry grows increasingly convincing, their carefully constructed lie becomes harder to maintain, especially when Shay and Dominic begin developing real feelings for each other. Now they have to navigate a relationship built on a secret, knowing that being exposed could jeopardise both their careers and their hearts.
This was a cute rom-com and I enjoyed its typical-coworkers-turned-enemies-turned-fake-exes-turned-cohosts-turned-real-romantic-partners love story well enough to rate The Ex Talk 4 stars.
