In addition to being my favourite author, I feel like her books bring good vibes to my reading challenge which is why my inaugural read for the year is always a Nora Roberts book.
While both the Goodreads and PopSugar prompts are much more interesting this year, I am once again opting out of both challenges. I have a few ambitious projects planned for the blog this year that are bound to take up most of my time. I am also hoping to get a job in the NGO industry this year and if/when that goes through I will have to concentrate my time and effort in the new role.
For those two reasons I will obviously not have time to read 52 books this year. I have instead decided to stick with last year’s goal of 30 books. The plan is also the same as last year – read the many unread books I have on my bookshelf. I bought 12 new books in December, bringing the tally of unread books on my bookshelf to 48!! Plus it is not like I will not buy any new books this year. I simply cannot resist the second-hand book vendors in the CBD who sell books for KES 100 – 300 depending on the author.
With that said, book 1/30:
