The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Book 30/30.

My 2019 reading challenge is complete!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!
And with a bomb ass book to boot!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Be wary of men with something to prove.

I loved everything about this book!
First and foremost I loved that it was a good story. Before I love a book for anything else, I fall in love with a good story. I read a good chunk of this book over the weekend, as I lay in bed with the rain in the background, which is something akin to heaven for me.
I loved Evelyn Hugo, Celia St. James and Harry Cameron so much. I was deeply invested in their stories and found myself buoyed by their wins and upset by their losses.
I loved the Hollywood Golden Era that the book is set in as it is one that fascinates me.
But most of all I loved the timely, relevant, thought-provoking advice and wisdom Evelyn shares with Monique throughout the book.

People think that intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is ‘you’re safe with me’- that’s intimacy.

I cannot wait to reread this!
