Book 12/30.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I saw a couple of reviews, one on Goodreads from Yvette Adams and several random ones on bookstagram saying this book made them cry. I went into this excited to shed a few tears (lol, for real) but nary a tear was shed π I donβt know why movies and TV shows make me cry really easily, but the same cannot be said for books, my one true love. The last time a book made me cry was at the beginning of the year when I was reading The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, but before that I vividly remember crying HARD 20 or so years ago while reading Zoya by Danielle Steel. Quick aside, I reread it in 2019 and did not cry for shit. Clearly I was a very emotional teenager when I read Zoya for the first time two decades ago π
Tears, or lack thereof, aside, I enjoyed this emotional story of when good people do bad things for good reasons. Some parts of it were a little slow, and I wish it would have ended differently, but all in all a solid 4 star read.
