All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover

Book 24/30.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.

Mother’s Day is still sooo challenging for me 😢 so I deliberately chose to read this over the Mother’s Day weekend as I was confident it would be the perfect distraction from the usual sadsies I get as almost everyone else gets to celebrate their mums 🥺💔 but yikes this book was super sadsies and its subject matter deals with motherhood so perhaps I should have chosen a light, fluffy rom-com instead 😅

Can a resounding love with a perfect beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people? All Your Perfects tells the story of Quinn and Graham’s perfect love that is threatened by their imperfect marriage. I am unable to review this book without giving the heart of the matter away, and since I believe its reading experience is enhanced if you go into it not knowing what exactly threatens their marriage, I will not spoil it for you. Just know I felt this one. Deeply! This was my fifth Colleen Hoover read, the first being the incomparable It Ends with Us which was a major 5 star read. I gave 4 stars to my next CoHo reads (Ugly Love, Verity and November 9) and three books later here we are with another 5 star CoHo 🤩

I am not the annotating type but if I were I would annotate the hell out of this book as it resonated with me sooo deeply. Instead, I took photos of paragraphs/sentences that punched me right in the gut for me to ruminate on later because this story will stay with me for a verrrryyy long time. I even texted my fiancé when I finished this to let him know he must also read it because I am Quinn in many ways, he is Graham in many ways, and we can be them EVEN MORE for reasons I am not ready to disclose.

Can a resounding love with a perfect beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people? That is something I ask myself every now and then the closer we get to our wedding day as my fiancé and I, like Quinn and Graham, are two imperfect people with the most romance-novel-worthy perfect beginning. As for whether Quinn and Graham’s marriage survives, you will just have to read the book to find out.
