Original 2015 Review
Charming read. Bilbo Baggins is quite easily one of the most charming literature characters of all times. The story was fun and funny. Tolkien is a very humourous writer, and that was a pleasant surprise for me. I loved reading how Bilbo grew into himself, and got to realize a strength and heroism he never thought capable of himself. And the friendships he formed along the way … Tolkien explores the theme of friendship in such a thought provoking way, making me ponder on my friendships as well as friendships in general. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
2025 Reread Review
Deliberately read The Hobbit for book 22 of my 2025 reading challenge because it is technically a children’s book and during The Eras Tour Taylor Swift used to give the 22 Hat 🎩 to children 🥲
Happy to report that it was just as charming this time around 😊
